It appears that the transmittal report gets some of its fields populated automatically in the background. This appears to be facilitated by the use of keywords in the Report Tree.

Keywords:
RecipientNameLabel = Company Name
ContactNameLabel = Contact
PostalAddressLabel
PhysicalAddressLabel

If our assessment is true and the keywords are used, is there a place that lists the available keywords that are automatically populated?

The automatically populated fields are visible on the standard transmittal report, Transmittal.RTM

They are
<transmittal>
<recipient>
<contact>
<email>
<postal>
<physical>
<Placeholder>
<Placeholder>
<Placeholder>

Also Dv 12 allows setting these fields in a macro breakpoint (currently only for the Transmittal report)... Dv 11 does not.

It appears that the forum is cutting off part of the variable names that are posted.

These are what I think you mean:

transmittal number placeholder
recipient name placeholder
contact name placeholder
email address
postal address placeholder
physical address placeholder
Placeholder for Notes 1
Placeholder for Notes 2
Placeholder for Notes 3

I also found this in the footer:
transmittal ID placeholder

We are working on a transmittal report for a client and are unable to determine how to place the recipient Phone and fax on the report?

It seems this was missed by PP support. If you still have any unanswered forums posts, can you please post a "reminder" message, or if they are urgent, send a link to support@practicalprograms.com

In regards to the question posted, we try to make the report label names standard as follows:

[tablename.field_name]Label

In the case of the Transmittal report, the field_names correspond to the field names in the DV_RECIPIENTS and TRANSMITTAL* tables.

The transmittal report generator looks for report labels or memos with specific names and populates the values with the transmittal data:

TransmittalIDLabel
TransmittalNumberLabel
RecipientNameLabel
ContactNameLabel
EmailAddressLabel
PhoneNumberLabel
FaxNumberLabel
PostalAddressLabel
PhysicalAddressLabel
Notes1Label
Notes2Label
Notes3Label

To rename controls, in the report designer, select the View -> Toolbars -> Report tree menu item.

Then select the control you need to change, e.g. Memo1, and press F2 (rename) and enter the new name, e.g. PostalAddressLabel, and press Enter to make the change.

Save the report, and then Dv TDM should show the correct information when the report is printed.
