Australian company Practical Programs is delivering the
double-barreled benefits of large-format document security
and access across the Internet with the European launch of
its DataViewer software at CeBIT.
A pioneer of large-format Product Document Management (PDM)
solutions, Practical is demonstrating how organizations can
share massively large graphics files via the Internet while
protecting them with high-level security. Practical Programs
is displaying the solution in Hall 22, Stand B26 with its
business partner Contex.
Practical Programs' software is used to manage large format
and technical documents by commercial, government, utility
and military organizations.
Richard Bate, founder and CEO of Practical Programs, says
central concerns for its clients were document access, authentication
and security.
DataViewer delivers electronic authentication of an
approved document version and 128-bit file encryption,
which protects for tile from unauthorized access, "Bates comments, "DataViewer's

easily to access files of 500MB or more through the Internet.
We are attending CeBIT 2001 to demonstrate DataViewer
to potential clients and to identify prospective business
partners in the region."
Ar CeBITS, Practical Programs is demonstrating the ability
to add digital =signatures to CAD files, so an engineer can
authenticate an approved version of a technical document;
streaming technology of large colour format documents through
400X compression, to provide timely access to CAD or GIS
files via the Web for remote offices or commercial customers;
and user-specific 128-bit data encryption of large format
files that are located in an accessible storage system.
